Yeah, my point is they are clearly reporting what they saw, not their own experience. Guess this one must be Canadian too, because they also posted it: https://www.facebook.com/ontariorockcli ... =3&theater. Do you also think that the guy who dropped his rope, hanging from one hand from the chains on Breakfast Burrito is also Canadian, simply because they mentioned it?

Sedan lost part of it's undercarriage on Saturday trying to make it out of Sore Heel. Didn't make it up the Lode. My guess is the driver didn't care to take the 4X4 warning signs seriously. Did a good job tearing up both roads though, the dirt under the gravel was clearly visible through the dust cloud they left.

The number of cars parked on top of Motherlode Hill was just crazy on Saturday. Something needs to be done about that, because the way some people were parked was definitely blocking the road in a big way. But there was no room to park otherwise. I was surprised to see quite a few cars that *I* would have had no trouble taking down the hill actually parked on top, including AWD cars with good clearance, but I suppose it is better to have people be over-cautious, rather than stupid.

And yes, we saw plenty of non-4x4 cars still going down the Motherlode hill anyway. However, most of those cars DO get out just fine. It is just that the fraction of non-4x4 cars that gets stuck is much higher than the fraction of 4x4 cars that get stuck. We didn't see anyone getting stuck when we were driving out, but at one point I did think that the car ahead of us would be backing out, because the car in front of them slowed down to an almost full stop. People aren't very good at giving room to the car in front of them, before heading out. I know it was Halloween and everyone was hoping to beat the crowds, but waiting a minute or two to make sure the hill ahead of you is clear isn't such a big deal.

My guess is that the land owners will start to have people towed if they block access to private property.

What a mess Saturday.... Way too many cars parked at the top of the hill blocking the gates to the grazing area and oil access. The road was in really rough shape, easily the worst I have seen it in the last 7 years. Hopefully the RRGC can come up with a more sustainable long term solution.
