Finding booty is fun. Deciding not to give it back after a plea was made can even be justified... But being an outright dick about it (seriously--taunting?) is not really cool, sorry.
The original post was never intended to start a debate over right and wrong. I just wanted to get those draws back to their owner (i mean, how cool would that be, really!? isn't that what the "classifieds" section is for?). It was a shot in the dark. But blame me for trying and I'll blame you for my weaksauce

You just screwed yourself by posting Toad....

Since you have already forfeited two shiny new draws, I would like to request that an admin change Spirited's "Gumby" status to something more appropriate, he has certainly earned that. All though I still think what you did is kinda f#cked up, it doesn't change the fact that you are a funny ass dude. Thanks for the picture, made my morning. Any ideas for a new status name?

Spirited was/is right. As far as toad is concerned...guess being a dick doesn't pay. I wouldn't give the draws back either. (I don't take booty). In fact I'd probably aution them off on Ebay and give the money to the RRGCC. A very worthy organization that needs the %100 support of the climbing community...

Yar, I don't spurt climb too often in the Red, and I've climbed all over the country as well. If I happened on two brand new draws at the anchors of an easily cleanable climb, they'd be additions to my rack until I happened on a climb which needed new fixed draws. For the last couple months I've been hacking tat, cleaning anchors, tying new slings, and recycling quicklinks all over, leaving new doubled cord and two links/rings on each anchor, that's what you do when you happen upon excessive anchors. I am currently negative about 4 links, a cordalette and 20ft of webbing, even with bootying about 10 links. I understand the new fad of fixed steel draws on severly overhung routes on private land, but really, fixing shiny draws on a vertical route on forest service land that are totally unnecessary?

I don't take anchors off of any thing...define excesssive? Its that kind of attitude that took the chains of of salty dog. Excessive....who the fuck appointed you the anchor police...
Although I think that this thread is hilarious. I wouldn't have taken any thing off of anything. It just brings on bad kharma.
If had draws stolen off of an entire route before. I know who did it. When I find him...guess what...

That kind of attitude of fixing tat tied to tat tied to tat? I didn't take your chains dude. Nor would I, it'd be obvious the chains were left for anchors by the equipper. I was talking about all sorts of crusty tat anchors, that people without knot tying abilities set up. I didn't write that I take anchors, I wrote that I have been fixing bad anchors, and recycling the extra hardware to fix other anchors. Besides, I don't even know how to spurt climb...
