Finnie......and twinkie............I'm pretty sure he has not done it as much as me, but I remember doing 4 or 5 laps on the rig with dude back in the day.....I think he has maybe sent it 75 times? Good trainer. It's wierd (sad) how people generalize on line.
As for his opinion? He brings up a valid point, doing what the FS wants on their land is important.
Personally, i have left tons of draws on tons of routes. Sometimes it is a seasonal thing, community service for the bros before and after you send? I have also changed out bad gear on routes often ....like putting up a route - helping upgrade a line is fun, rewarding, and defintely worth the small (relative) cost.
I like perma-draws, but like most things........there are pros and cons. I do not think all routes need project draws or perma draws....the line that defines.....is gray at best.
What if.........five guys at the whatever crag are trying to send/pink point/red point.......said route.....if each had to remove all gear to get a successful send......crags would be twice as slow!
Personally........the pink point issue is relavant to trad, though.
