My father fished the creeks in Hazard and Harlan growing up.
Most of my family is from KY. My grandfather moved to Ohio for work when the mine closed up.
I wouldn't call myself a local by any stretch, but I have more ties to that region that 99% of you.
exactly, this has probably helped you in more ways than one. Mainly though it has kept the eye of the gorge gods distracted by other buckeye's for the sacrifice.

not sure - but neal strickland has 37 FAs, hugh loeffler has 35 FAs, & jeff Ashley has 5 & mike norman has 4. so i could come up with 81 FA's by "native kentuckians" in about 30 seconds w/o even giving it much thought - i'm sure the figure is much higher.
Throw Jeff Moll, Keith Moll & Chris Martin into the fray and you'd double that list really quick

You're Bert T. Combs great-nephew? That's cool!
My people are from Blackmont. Spittin' distance from Perry Co. My great-grandmother was an herbalist. She was 4'11" tall and rode a big pack horse all over the hills of Harlan and Bell Counties curing folks of maladies. Her book of remedies was somehow lost (or sold). I would love to have that book. I am a local.
