It is okay, Piggie. You are among friends. Bring it in for a big hug.

Pigsteak, is this thread your round-about way of saying how much you miss Rhunt?

you know, rhunt would be the first to admit that our lives have moved in different directions. 100% of our get togethers in years past were around climbing trips, weddings, or deaths. my wife has spent 5 times as much time with rhunt than I have the past 2 years (in any other scenario, that would just sound wrong)
but yeah, I miss him. and it may never be the same.

Dude no worries...positive vibes brah...positive vibes - the more things change the more they stay the same. We been friends for what 15 years and yet have never lived in the same state.
How about you put the drill down and we spend some weekends doing all the classic 5.7-5.9 trad climbs. My old fat ass can get up most of those....I think.

ive had a love/hate relation with climbing for 5 years.
the love = enjoying adventures with friends..
the hate = its taken over my life. i havent been able to focus on other things like relations, work, i even lived with my parents for 5 years ! (and im over 35...), plus couldnt improve (also mentally) beyond a certain level.
it appears i need to quit for a while to sort out life. balance things out.
but it seems everything gets really boring every time i try to take a break.
plus my performance goes down which also sucks.
it seems that in order to take a break, one should be prepared to go through a mental crisis. a breakdown of sorts.
some people shouldnt be allowed to start this activity... like some people shouldnt be allowed to drink alchohol. its a combination of psychological factors that can screw up certain people..
when it becomes a replacement, something you do to repress other stuff, and not something you do for its own sake, then you know you have a problem..

Hemingway said make all changes dramatic and permanent- hope that helps but it never did much for me.
