I always thought of a well rounded as having a good balance of power, technique, endurance, etc. rather than sport, trad, bouldering etc. But that's a valid way to look at it.

In today's specialist society the well-rounded climber is a myth (in my opinion).

It's been an interesting thread and poll - and it would have been even more interesting if everyone would have listed the routes that define their RP vs OS. May have been able to gather more insight from this than just the posted numerical difference. And don't forget the element of time (for what it's worth).

Mine...

RP is Mercy The Huff
OS is Yadda Yadda Yadda

And almost two years separates the two.

Its a sin to brag...but for the point of argument

Flash - Jesus Wept (and hardest RP)

Onsite - Blue Eyed Honky (and lots of 12c RPs)

I dunno - its weird, because I've been working a 13a, but just get my butt kicked....I don't know...I'm moving to the red this fall, so maybe I can put some more time in (its currently a LONG haul at 3 hours)

Onsight - 10a at darkside
Redpoint - 10c Brief History of Climb

although both are soft for the grade. (they have to be for me to get up them! )
they were seperated by about 2 months time with onsight preceeding red point.

Josie- its just your confidence in your belayer that enables you to pull these super-uber feats- and your welcome although I realize I had nothing to do with the RP
