Sounds like the Government
Do we need a Revolution????
or just some dialogue on the finer points of why we should do or not do things that go against "The Ethics"? I agree with all the ethics presented so far, but have only one question, Besides the red tag thing, was'nt most of this common sense??? pick up trash, be kind to others, pick up your dogs mess, don't write on the rock, pack it in, pack it out etc. etc.
I have been in the Gorge as a "gumby" for a little over a year now, and all this seems like common sense to me, I was'nt told not do these things. I climb at RockQuest when not in the Gorge, alot of the regulars they're, are regulars to the Gorge, so spreading the word is not a problem. The problem lies in what the new climbers do or don't do with this information, if they are not used to suffering any consequences for they're actions before they come here, they will not think twice about any new rules or ethics when they get here. I agree this is a small percentage of climbers and they are easy to pick out, but each year the sport grows, and each year more and more of these types ruin it for the rest of us who do the right things. it's been said numerous times on here, but I'll say it again, If we don't start policing this stuff now, it will just get worse. If I could spend more time in the Gorge I would, I don't have a problem with saying anything to anybody, right is right, and wrong is wrong!!!! I wish I had an answer in this rant, but all I seem to be able to do is point out the obvious.......
The enemy of my enemy is my friend.....
