Red Wine
This is hardly a timely post, but if you want a very sweet red wine that's actually wine and not Boone's Farm, you should try a port. They tend to be very sweet, even kool-aid like, but be careful not to let the deceptively high alcohol content sneak up on you.

The guy at Sam's Wine (a wine megastore in Chicago) suggested this as an under $10 pick. I was going to have it with dinner tonight, but I don't think it will go so well with the mushroom/polenta/gorgonzola thing I'm making....
(Oh, yeah - don't get all freaked out by the reputation of rose wine as sweet crap. The 'real thing' from the south of France is high quality wine, and while it tends to have a lot of fruit flavors, it generally isn't sweet at all.)
