I started thinking about this thread last weekend after taking a whip when I missed the final clipping hold at the anchors. You know that frustration you feel when you blow a redpoint attempt that close to the end? Anyway, my single, loud explitive was total reflex and was finished before the rope even pulled tight. I felt guilty about it afterward since everyone at Military and the Skank didn't really care about my piddly little problem. Anyone have any suggestions on how to help stop these spontaneous little outbursts?

I spent a Sunday a few weeks back saying the f* word and then saying I was sorry to my grandson! Climbers say cusses.

(I know I'm not a real climber, Pigsteak, but Sir lifted my cussing ban!)
What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.

hot chicks cussing is definitely a turnoff....unless they are falling on the same project I am, and in that case it is a total turn on.

dipsi, actually, there is a small print corollary in the piglet handbook of rules which states that anyone who knows more than 17 ways to curse and send the climbing gods back to the dungeons is classified as a real climber....I am betting you qualify.

What counts here as a cute little girl? Like a 14 year old doe eyed gumby wallpapering the crag in the F word? That would be a shock, I guess.

Lately I've been so underwhelmed with my climbing that I just fall, shake my head and try again.

Looks like you are climbing just fine to me, esp. still in rehab mode...

I talk to the rock as I climb...on occasion. Saying things like "I need a right hand here, then turn my body, toe in..." That's when I have a sequence I'm trying to lock in.

When I fall...I wail like a banshee. No cursing, except on occasion.

Other than that. I've got a dang foul mouth. No apologies and I'm glad that piggie doesn't want to make out with me. But I curse like a sailor.
