You are right, GWG. It is OUR cause. And for a lot of people who would like to take this on as their cause too and volunteer, there seems to be only one factor that keeps them from doing so: the fact that the coalition cannot resurface with Gretchen on board. We are not passing the blame, GWG, we are offering solutions and Gretchen is being resistant to our suggestions.
I'm sure everyone is grateful for what people have done in the past to protect climbing at the Red, but these people should also know when it is time to bid farewell and let others have their chance of making a difference at the Gorge.

I would hope that her own mouth would be a reliable source regarding the type of person she is. Bottom line with this issue is that Gretchen is representing the coalition in a negative way. And not just on this forum (in the past) but on the "official" RRGCC website as well.
Perhaps the problem here is that THEY make US feel like it is not our cause...it is theirs & we are outsiders trying to get a piece of the action. Like it is an elitist club & we should feel honored that we were asked to help.
I've only begun to climb & I generally am a very involved person but the coalition isn't very welcoming & I do feel like an outsider when they are involved.
This is just the vibe I have gotten. If I'm reading this wrong then forgive me & ignore me. I'm bowing out now.

As far as I can guess GWG, some are upset about her comment on the MPP not being Muir. However, if I were put in charge of the MPP I probably would have told Jerad the same thing if he tried telling me how to run it.GWG wrote: For those who were so offended by the posts by Gretchen, please point out the not so obvious to those of us not as enlightened.

Not a bitch.
Her last post on that thread was really mean but she edited it. My feeling is that someone on the BOD asked her to edit it just like they asked her to write a public apology.
GWG - So are you volunteering your time to be a local representative for your area? I vote for you to be quiet. And BTW, you certainly have a perfect rank.
...Did any of these things strike a nerve with you? Because each sentence is almost the exact same thing that Gretchen said on that thread.
I'm not attacking you...just trying to prove a point.

as she would readily admit that she is NOT the nicest person sometimes...but also that she really doesn't care what people think about her actions...diggum wrote:I would hope that her own mouth would be a reliable source regarding the type of person she is.
I love Gretchen and her family...but I think business needs to stay business and not get personal...which she has a tendency to do...and then friendships get ruined...I do not feel that she is a good representation for the RRGCC and should be asked to refrain from making personal attacks...
i do believe she should be able to defend herself in this forum but I understand the reasons she has been banned...and I agree with them...so...what to do what to do...
