Bolt could have ran a 9.5 if he really wanted. He is a freak. He said he was actually going to see how fast he can run in the 200 final.

Sure you like to watch him win. Thats what the wife keeps telling me everytime she rewinds the DVR.
Ha-- careful, you're starting to understand our language.

How about Oksana Chusovitina? 33 year old gymnast who won silver on the vault? In her fourth olympics - that is pretty cool.

Vaulting is like bouldering. Just practice for real gymnastics.

Heh, so does that make the beam like free soloing?
I kinda like the floor (Sandra Izbasa was clutch!), but the women's routines look just about like the men's now - much less dance / artistic, and four tumbling passes. All about the start value, I guess. Wonder if they are going to use the format for college meets now?

512OW, why do i always disagree with you on everything!?!?
first, i love nastia. i'd be serious too if i were not the media favorite. ever since her injury, she's had negative press, being called "washed up," "done for," etc. it's tough being the underdog. maybe if shawn had spent less time smiling and more time focusing on her routines, she wouldn't be wearing silver around her neck.
... okay, i can't even type the last part with a straight face. truth is, i like both gymnasts a lot, but i think nastia worked really hard, and deserved the gold. no one's talking about the chinese men not deserving all around medals because they weren't smiling, or in any other sports for that matter. i think nastia's reaction on the podium showed how much the gold meant to her. further, calling her vault the equivalent of a 5.12 is ridiculous. even with a lower start value, there were no visible errors in her vault, and she deserved higher.
finally, i agree the men's 100m was awesome, but i have mixed feelings about the show-boat finish. i give him props for caring more about winning than crushing a world record, but i kinda would have liked to see how fast he could have gone.

and by the way, did anyone else notice the pervert commentator making comments about nastia while stretching before floor? we were dying; he was like, "just look at the little, tight, flexible body..." there was no hiding where his thoughts were...

Pretty much exactly. Except WAY scarier.
