We better start hiking in now, it'll take us about that long to find Hen's Nest.

Come on Super Safe, do it for Muir!! Just think, double-decker parking... ADA-compliant wheelchair ramps... or maybe we could just buy a few shovels, dig a big hole next to the Motherlode parking-sty, and put up a sign that says "CRAP HERE PLEASE"

Honestly, from talking to Grant on that clean-up day, I really do think they were concerned about use-related impacts, particularly erosion around the gumby slabs and the steep hillside over by 5-Finger Discount. I told him that there were definitely ways we could address that as a community with trail days and supporting the soil and infrastructure around the base of "problem areas" (ie. the Access Fund grant and continued volunteer work at the crag).... crickets in response. Kinda hard to do much about correcting the problem if we can't even have access to work on them. Reality is, areas underneath the overhangs will be eroded until the end of time, no amount of waiting for the area to "heal" itself is going to cause soil, rocks, and dirt to regenerate.

It's at the end of the crag. If they were worried about the 5.7 wall they'd have closed that area. It broke my heart to see the RRG climbing community beating themselves up over the closing of Roadside after a recent productive and well-subscribed trail day.
