Obama is at least well educated, JFK was young, inexperienced and not noted as an astute thinker, yet his presidency is marked by achievements and challenges to the generations of even today- Reagan's best work prior to his presidency was done with chimps yet the record speaks for itself, at least if you ask a pub, Obama's lask of respect for the flag is disconcerting but others wrapping their ass in it is just as suspect. But the "one term", he's another Carter may be the truest call so far.

Sorry, but El Presidente Jet Fighter Pilot set the bar pretty damn low.

Candidate A:
Humble beginnings, multilingual, able to transfer into and graduate from Columbia, worked in business, left private sector to work as a community organizer, was accepted to Harvard Law, became president of the Harvard Law Review and graduated magna cum laude, returned to community work, worked in the private sector as a lawyer and was a lecturer at the University of Chicago Law School for more than 10 years, was successfully elected to the State Senate, was successfully elected to the US Senate, quickly rose to international prominence, is currently leading candidate for US Presidency.

Candidate B:
Born into wealth and connections, unilingual and almost never traveled outside of the US, managed to be accepted to Yale as a legacy and didn't excel, avoided service in Viet Nam by barely squeaking into the reserves, wasn't able to maintain his flight status and flaked out of remaining duty, was rejected by the University of Texas Law School, somehow got into Harvard Business and didn't excel, got arrested for drunk driving, failed run for the US House, ran a series of oil companies into the ground, given a job by his dad on his presidential campaign, bought into a baseball team and didn't screw it up, parlayed name recognition and connections as Son of the US President into successful run for Governor of Texas, further parlayed name/connections into a failed run for US President but was rescued by his father's judicial appointees, allowed US to be attacked by terrorists, botched response to attack and has allowed attack mastermind to operate free for about six years, led the least successful military operation in US history. Is currently strong candidate for Worst President in US History.

If things like "understanding how things work outside of the US", "being exceptionally smart", "having a proven track record of success in the academic, business and political realms" and "having experience of what real life means for millions of Americans" make you poorly qualified to be President, then, yeah, El Shrubbo is 'super qualified' and Obama is 'vastly underqualified'.

Boy, Fox News 'upside down world' is fascinating...

tomdarch, Glad to see you're strictly non-partisan, not a biased bone in your body.

I've been really busy recording a new album so this point may have been made already:

McCain voted against the anti-torture bill.

We need to find a way to make fascism illegal in this country.

Vote, and convince others to vote with you?

The problem is the fascists will continue to invade our rights until we live under their thumb. They've already negated the power of the vote (see the last two Presidential elections). "We need to spy on you, just a little to keep you safe." "We need to restrict your free speech, just a little to keep you safe." "We need to look through your private belongings, copy the contents of your laptop, and take a DNA sample to let you back into the country, just to keep you safe." "We need to ignore habeus corpus, just to keep you safe." "We need to lock up your brother forever without charge, just to keep you safe."
