The worst climbing partner I had (and it was the last time as my partner) was when a friend and I were left on the side of a mountain in the dark with another pitch to go, and communication was cut on purpose because the bastard got mad that it got dark and he didn't want to climb in the dark! We didn't have our head lamps, our second rope, our jackets (it was getting cold), and he turned off his radio and left.
We finished the trad route in the dark and rapped down both pitches to get yelled at about how inconsiderate we were not to let him climb! WOW! And this is true, I'm so sorry to say.
I think I win....

This only hapened once: On my 2d trad lead I was so into the climbing that I ranout from my last piece about 15 ft and I was only about 20 ft off the deck. I was getting ready to place gear when my belayer starts talking real quickly and in a higher pitched voice that I was runout and really needed to put a piece in. I wasn't nervous until then. I stopped, looked down at him and told him to relax every thing was okay. Once I got the gear in I looked down and said"That was my polite way of telling you to shut the fuck up"
I probably annoy my climbing partners when I fart before the crux. 8)

SCIN: That reminds me of this guy I met once.
We had met for about 6 minutes at a climbing gym, and he asked me what level I climb, what type, etc. I tell him that I love bouldering. He says, 'man, everyone knows that's just practice for real climbing.'
'and real climbing is...?'
'multi pitch.'
'Have you ever gone to a bouldering destination?
'no.'
Later I found out that the dude can only lead 5.8.
I guess that would be practice.
Funny how other people's stupidity highlights my own.

It kills me how many (MANY) people will complain about the approach. "It's too steep!", "These rhodos suck!", "How much farther?!", "These rhodos suck!"
If you're having trouble with the approach then maybe you shouldn't be climbing at all.
Also, hard core sporties that trivialize trad: "It's a rest day so I'll do trad" or "it's ONLY trad."
I used to climb with Tony Reynaldo. Love the guy, but could write volumes about annoying partner characteristics.
