A little common sense here please. Spray lords I mean lists say nothing of someone's safety. I've seen someone deck who was redpointing 12+ who was being belayed by a 12+ climber both of whom happened to partake in too much MJ and shrooms that day.
Gumbies need to admit their inexperience and be willing to take advice. It becomes painfully obvious when someone doesn't know what they he!! they are taking about rather quickly just refer back to Saturns rock climbing ads and need I say more.

I think they were joking, Maine.
I agree with you, but they don't and most of us with a few years under our belts probably didn't either ... back then. And we still goof up despite experience.

Wouldn't the poster have just asked his expert friend about the store and the amount of gear needed in the first place while lining up the instruction? And, it's good to know that every person you learned from in your life knew exactly what they were talking about and never gave you any poor advice. That's even more incredible than the size of the troll.
You know-so few meet my standards, so no list is needed.

Toad, as much as you climb shouldn't you be considered a gumby now?
Hey newbie, you'll probably be climbing harder in a year than anyone here giving you shit. That's how it usually works.

SCIN, I've been in and out of Gumby so many times that you can just call me Pokey.

Maybe so. Expert on climbing doesn't mean expert on the Red.

Fact is, most of the people on here who are giving you shit... are gumbies themselves. ESPECIALLY if you hand them anything other than a rack of quickdraws and a Grigri.

512OW, got to hand it to you, would love to see some of these people at long wall pluging gear. The Red has bolts and cracks, climb them both.
For the nOObs, Climb safe, if you don't know, don't do it.

"The Red has bolts and cracks, climb them both."
why climb both...waste of a good day to plug gear..ask OW..he hasn't brought a cam to the Red in two years...pluging gear sounds sadistic to me...
how does one not do it if we don't know what we are not supposed to not be doing?
