Man, I saw the title of this thread and decided to not go to Muir again.

Then I read it, and realized it's "NO" dogs at muir. I think I'll be there every weekend now.

I don't think the climbers actually bring their dogs to the crag. I think god does.

because we enjoy the company of our dogs, duh. People who get dogs and who don't spend time with them are cruel idiots. Why have them? Dogs are pack animals and very social, not equipped to live a life of isolation and neglect. Also, dogs are better than most people. If mine could belay me, life would be perfect.

Because it says in 1st Canalonians vs. 5, "all climbers must bring dogs to thy cliff for it brings the greatest fulfillment of the law".

Stupid, rude people need stupid, rude rules. A new sign saying all loose dogs will be shot would do the trick. If someone is too stupid to be able to follow rules on a property that is FREE for them to climb at are too stupid to own dogs anyways!!! Being a disrespectful idiot is not acceptable and these people need to either start caring or buy their own private climbing area.

I really love dogs, but i've yet to visit a "popular" crag where they didn't cause problems. Wise, respectful owners are the exception, because it takes intelligence time and patience to train a dog properly and the mindfulness to realize they aren't the only people in the forest on any given day. Of these qualities, the average dog owner only has time. Anyway, It was only a matter of time, it's too bad for the good owners, they don't deserve this, but unfortunately the dumbasses actions dictate the policies.

I am guessing you have never owned a dog, but they do become family, and I know my dog loves the red as much as I do. In fact, she has gotten to the point where when in the city she will often bury herself inside some bushes to mimic the rhododendron cover. The extra hassle of a dog is nothing compaired to the enjoyment we both get from being at the red.
