I think some people are mis-guided by Pastors/priests who let they're personal beliefs/interpetations get in the way of the teachings of Christ, and thats where the behavior the non-believers get they're impressions of Christianity from. What are you people afraid of??? That we are right and you may be wrong, where does that leave you when your the angel of death comes a knocking??? Luckily the guy I believe in will forgive you. Say what you want on here, I believe in science as much as anyone, and facts are facts, but as long as I try to live by the examples of Christ, who am I harming??? I have never forced my beliefs on any of you, yet everyday various people on here cram they're beliefs down my throat like its they're job. I am not a sheep, mostly I'm the sheep dog who protects the flock, I leave the shepharding to those more qualified than I. Sax, this is not directly at you, but you were the one who's post hit me wrong. True believers will have no problem with the statements made against Christianity, I however just can't stand by and say nothing. You can use all the beekers, test tubes, and bunson burners you want, science will not shake my faith. You have faith that the sun will rise and set everyday, I have faith that if I live a good life, treat everyone as I would want to be treated, I will live a good life and die with a clear conscience.

Can we please settle this arguement. The horse is beyond dead.

gunslnga, you sound like a good Christian. Unfortunately it has been the experience of many that a lot of Christians would make Jesus weep. Surely you are aware of this?

You are right, when taken out of context my statement does sound provocative. However, my full statement did not claim that anyones version of god was wrong or right. But evangelical religious types are by nature telling their prey that their beliefs are wrong, and why they should change. By the nature of a statement of a one and only truth, one and only one way into heaven, you are claiming that all others are wrong and therefore not going to make it. I don't think anyone on here can not handle the fact that someone else believes beyond a shadow of a doubt that their beliefs are wrong. Because we can accept others beliefs and not try to force our own on everyone we will not likely be having any crag wars. So here it comes again, many people can not handle being told they are wrong and that is unfortunate, and that (in my opinion) is one reason why religious conflicts occur.

Absolutley, I am a sinner, but I am not a hypocrite. I strive every day to be a better person through my belief in Christ, sometimes I succeed, sometimes I fall. People who knowingly sin, because they think they will just ask for his forgiveness later, are the worst kind of Christian. I hate that these types, through the Media, define Christianity to the world (Tammy Faye and Jim Baker, Jerry Fallwell, etc.etc.) these people do not represent me nor my beliefs. I also hold those in contempt with they're holier than thou attitude based on how many scriptures they can quote or hymns they can sing, or if they are the pastors pet. We are all equal in the eyes of God.....

I think that people who are secure in their faith can handle being told they are wrong, and they easily shrug it off. Those same people also don't feel the need to shove their beliefs down the throats of others because they don't need the validation. They will share when people are open to what they have to say, and they live by example. I respect those people.

It's people who are insecure in their beliefs who are threatened by beliefs which differ from their own, and they object the loudest. Ever seen an insecure Christian go after an Atheist? It's almost comical.

Unfortunately I have. My buddies wife never looked at me the same after she pressed me to go to church with them. My buddie was a devout baptist and physicist whom I had many interesting theological discussions with, however I don't think she enjoyed our only conversation. I did not think I was rude, I just honestly answered her questions.

I having nothing to prove to anybody but myself, my God is always there for me. An old saying goes: "If your right you need not argue, if your wrong, you dare not " The very point I was making was not that you were attempting to provoke, but that it could be taken that way. I agree no one likes being wrong, but life is all about wrong or right, up or down, yin or yang etc. etc.
As a Christian if you cant handle the heat, get out of the pew.
Jesus said turn the other cheek, but nowhere did he say bend over, hence the mild agression in my posts at times, I am human and as such, I have short comings, being able to admit it, puts me ahead of most......

I've been there as well. So many times that I am amused by it at this point.
