Actually, me and Rhunt have an understanding, we agree to disagree, but remain cool to each other, just like allot of people on here. I don't out his personal beliefs, he has rational reasons he feels the way he does and I can understand.

Wow.......just logged back in and I see 3 pages. I guess I did start a rant thread. For those who misunderstood due to my poor communication skills I wasn't trashing religion. My pop is a Jehovah's Witness and I respect what he does even if it does include knocking on doors. I was trashing what I saw in this movie. Kids who are having this stuff forced down their throats. All religions do it, especially my Pop's religion, but it freaked me out to see these kids turned into crying Zombies who seem like they would not think twice about eating another's brains if it were for God. If you didn't see the movie you have no idea what I'm talking about. I mean, shit, in one part of the movie they bring a cardboard cutout of George Bush and the kids are worshipping it!!!!!!!! Come on!

Oh yea, I edited my original post to take out the stuff that gave the impression I was really trashing religion as a whole. I really didn't mean it to come off that way but it really did.

The most profound thing I have heard in a long time.

I hope there is a god of some sort. I like to believe I touch it from time to time. If we spent as much time as people spend worshiping whomever to make this planet a better place then we would all reach enlightenment. All of my experiences point to some higher power but I think all the current religions have it wrong.

I don't know what I believe for sure, and I am definitely not sure what is the *right* religion, but I do know what is wrong, and here are but two examples of religion being a bad thing:

http://www.kentucky.com/mld/kentucky/16658802.htm I mean, WTF? How can you not be for something that has been shown to stop a serious from of cancer? Dark ages, no doubt.

And, while I am generally not a propionate of violence, I do feel that sometimes, if applied properly and judiciously, it can be the right thing. For example, these people need to be beaten with ax handles the next time the do this: http://www.kentucky.com/mld/kentucky/16658780.htm I mean, if you want to say "god hates fags" in your church, or even down at triangle park or something that is one thing. But to protest at a funeral of kids that were killed in a fire? That is just fucking wrong, and those people need to be beaten until they stop.

Something pretty sick in Jesus Freaks was when a mother was home schooling her child and drilling down her belief that Global Warming is not happening. Even though some of the brighest minds in the Universe have concluded that it really is happening, this woman armed with her faith has made the decision that it is not happening. I hate it when people ignore science. I mean, I understand the whole debate when it comes to religion but how can these people, having done no studying besides what they read in the bible, make such bold remarks like global warming is not a fact? It takes more than your gut and a bible to argue with a team of scientists with cold hard facts.

Global warming is good for the midwest. It's just bad for the rest of the world.
