I thought that I had heard this at a crag one day, maybe it's true how it happened. I remember reading about it on rockclimbing.com too, but they didn't understand the context of situation so "the mayor being set on fire" had a different meaning. I think someone straightend them out though. Would be a shame if people thought that kind of stuff was a regular occurence in KY. Might help with crowd control though.

I haven't met anyone (the non-sketchy people I mean) around there that hasn't suggested carrying a pistol...

I recommend the 3913 Smith & Wesson. Compact and single-stack. A quality piece. Down side is the price. They ain't cheap.

I have lived down here nearly nine years. What is not publicised are the close calls. I know several people who have shot at cars & the dirtbags in the act of robbery. No killings by the guys I know, but they would have killed these people if they had not "high tailed" it out of there. I would not hesitate, myself, because the law down here is a joke. A great deal of the local population carry weapons within their vehicles. I know quite a few that carry a small derringer or something on their person. Even the felons who are not allow to own a weapon. I even had a group of jeepers that were stopped in the middle of Highway 11, at Big Ben Road by two vehicles. Both vehicles unloaded with 4 guys and one woman with guns leveled at them. Fortunately there was a case of mistaken identity, and the locals let my customers go. T

There are many more stories, stop by the fire one night and we can drink a few and then get the guns out.
