Just an update for everyone!

Jeremy decided to rip out his trachea tube last week. The doctors decided that he was doing okay without it so they have not put it back. Now that the tube is not in blocking his throat he is able to make noise. He has not been able to form words yet but this is progress. He also has a wheelchair now and has been able to go outside. His mother says that he definitely perks up when he is outside.

People especially need to go visit him now. He does know when people are there.

Rhunt, how was Jeremy last night? He's on my mind a lot, as is his good friend Allah.

Jeremy is doing much better! He's in a great rehab facility. Althought he is still technically in a coma, he is aware and responsive to his surrondings. He responds to basic commands, like hand movoments and will even turn his head and look at you with enough prodding. He receives PT 5 days a week, plus OT and speech therapy. Jeremy makes small improvments every day. Now that the trach is out he is making noise which is one step away from talking. Plus they will begin to try to get him to eat on his own soon.

If you are able, please come to visit him as much as possible. Jeremy needs a lot of stimulation to help pull him through this.

And as always keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks Rob. I hope that his family is doing better too. I cannot imagine how difficult this is on everyone involved.

HUGE NEWS!!

While Jeremy is still in a coma technically he is now responding to people. As of this week Jeremy can now give a yes or a no when asked. The doctors say that he has made weeks worth of progress in a matter of days. His therapists have been able to get him to pick out colored blocks when asked. And now they have formed a way for him to communicate; he puts up a fist for no and one finger for yes. When asked if he wanted to to go outside he didn't respond, he was asked twice more with no response, finally they asked him "Jeremy do you want to stay inside?" and he put up a fist. When the card that I brought up from you guys at climb time was read to him, he was asked if he remembered certain people; he was able to answer with a fist or a finger. I am happy to say that he gave some of you guys the finger   while others got the fist.

Everyone please come up and visit him. I am sure that his parents would be thrilled with more friends visiting and he would probably like the stimulation. If you need directions PM me or Allah or Rhunt or you can even call the gym up in Columbus for directions.
