I agree totally that its a cool line...SCIN and I found it eons ago and talked it up quite a bit. I for one vowed never to go back to that trash dump we call The Dome.
But that problem is easily the best looking thing up there.
Theres also an unclimbed problem at Indian Creek that looks really cool...and sick hard.

I don't know that i would call it the best in the Red either. Sorry, Matt...
But it has stuck in my mind long after I gave up bouldering to nurture my tendon itis in other ways.

Personally I dig dreams. The pearl is o.k., but dreams is a super-clean, moderate, asthetically pleasing bouldering that stays dry in the rain.

Dreams is good. Tough to get to these days though....and if it were raining, it would suck big time to hike all the way to it, so the staying dry thing hardly matters.
Plus, I'm not sure I'd call it moderate. Thats saying alot. Its like V2 on a high humidity day.
The Pearl IS moderate....V5ish or something? 6 on a fat day?
The best boulder problem in the Red is Negative Energy.

personally, I see very little quality comparison between the Pearl and this problem. The Pearl is a decent problem for the Red but that's as far as I'll go on it. While the problem at the Dump.. er Dome might be a tad sharp it's got it's got everything a good boulder problem should. long dynamic moves, a little pain, committing top out. Plus, it tops out over head height!

Someone should tell John Gill that the Ironman Traverse isn't a good boulder problem. It doesn't fit the protocol.
Neither does Martini Roof.
or
Bachar Cracker.
or
Slashface.
or.......
Shall I continue?

So does somebody have a pic of this thing at the dome or what? You took a picture of it when you hiked all the way up there for your route desc. right SCINNY?

Hey man, that's one of the Muir Valley boulders! Nah, it does look remarkably similar to Boat Rock though!
