um, actually he is very strong and DOES climb.

Do you not even listen to your body when it is injured? If you keep pushing an injury, hmmm, probably it's just going to get worse.

oh, and I guess some of us aren't as fortunate to be strong like you...

Yes, I DO listen to my body. My body always says climb, climb, climb.
To me, injury is simply a state of mind. The body gets stronger by being pushed beyond the threshold of pain. If you can't take the pain then you will remain stagnant in your performance. Hence the phrase "No pain - No gain".

Have you ever been pushing the limits of your anaerobic threshold and felt unbearable pain in your body? Top endurance athletes get to the top by learning to cope with the pain and therefore increasing their tolerance and lung capacity. The only way to do so is through periods of extreme pain. jefflehmkul needs to learn to be like a top athlete and push past his finger injury so he can climb stronger.

snoopdogg, you my friend should take my place as the douche bag on here. You are a complete tool box that does not deserve to breathe the air that you are taking from the rest of us "real" climbers.

Your first sentence reminded me so much of J-Rock, he thinks of nothing but climbing. But here's an e-mail I got from him when I was injured. It will put things in perspective for you -- hopefully.

I also make a strong attempt to focus my mental/physical/spiritual energy to aid in the body's natural tendency to heal itself. The most difficult part for me is listening to my body and resisting the urge to fight the pain. However, I do believe mild exercise is conducive to promoting healthy limbs, muscles, and joints. Finding the balance point between mild pain and exercise usually proves to be the crux. With a powerful mind as a catalyst the body will recover optimally in a very short amount of time.

I don't care if he thinks nothing about climbing. Is he a strong climber? By strong, I mean in the ranks of a pro? If not, then why would you listen to him? I listen to only the top notch professionals.

hmm, not all knowledgable people, EXPERIENCED, strong people, make it their LIFE to be a professional at what they are good at. They have lives other than those hobbies, sports, businesses, etc...
Do you always go around, snoopdoggy, picking fights with the big dogs??

If Tommy tells you that you will climb stronger if you chow down on cowpies and goat turds, will you do it?

Well, here you go snoop...I was on the US climbing team for both the adults and the youth divisions. I have competed in world cup climbing competitions, won national climbing comps, and bouldered and climbed all over this country and in Europe. I would say that that would make me one of these so called top notch guys you speak of. So, straight from the horse's mouth, I am telling you that you are an idiot if you continue to climb when your body is injured. Oh, and the reason you aren't getting injured is because you aren't pushing yourself as hard as you think you are.Image Image
