Hello Everyone,

Well as I am sure you have noticed, the weekly updates are not so weekly
anymore. None the less I will still update the site periodically.

This gallery features this summer's climb of the Grand Teton. Having
grown up in the shadow of the Grand Teton, I have wanted to climb it for
quite some time. The climb was pretty amazing and pushed me really hard.
The hard work and suffering was definately made up for by the incredible
views though. And I suspect I 'built some character' along the way as
well. I wrote a pretty extensive trip report for this one and it is full
of beta, which might come in useful if any of you are planning on climbing
the Grand at some point.

Check it out:

Merrick, that summit is breathtaking! The climb leading up to it looks wild and fun, too. Nice job! Thanks for posting these.

unfortunately you have to hike. but maybe you could hire some porters. with the cost of living in Jackson Hole so high I bet someone would be psyched to ferry loads for pretty cheap. 8)

"but do you think i could ride my horse to the saddle, i really hate hiking?"

please tell me you're joking--

I'd recommend getting in good hiking shape and trying to do the Grand in a day unless you enjoy humping the pig.

I was obviously joking...and call me dense if you will, but i don't really know what you mean by humping the pig

"Humping the pig" Carrying a large pack or haul bag, usually to the base of a route.

You could do some routes in the winds, Mia. You can take horses and Llamas to many of the areas.

i see...thanks for clearing that up.

i am just not a huge fan of hiking all that way just to climb on what may or may not be crappy rock, and i'm not being specific to the grand or even the tetons.

i will check out the Winds though, it sounds like a fun trip all around even if the climbing doesn't turn out that well.
