The owners of Graining Fork Nature Preserve, the land on which Roadside Crag is located, have been notified about the removal of the sign. They said another CLOSED sign will be posted soon. The closed status of the property is clearly stated on the Graining Fork Nature Preserve website - http://grainingfork.org/.

OK, maybe I am reading the Graining Fork website wrong, but it sounds like it may be open on a limited basis for those with permits, waivers, etc. Does anyone know for sure? There is also now a page on the website where you can fill out a permit.

CLIMBING
The GFNP contains an area that for many years was simply known as “Roadside”. Because of it’s easy access and amazing routes Roadside Crag has been described as the flagship crag in the a world class climbing area. In his excellent guide books (The Red River Gorge, A Rock Climbing Guide), Ray Ellington, described Roadside as ‘Having it all.” The area has limited access to experienced climbers that have signed a liability waiver and obtained a permit.

Graining Fork Nature Preserve, aka, Roadside is open. If you go to http://www.grainingfork.org website you can obtain a permit to access the preserve. Please help ensure the rules are adhered to and keep an eye on the place.

Great news John, thank you!! Also, you may want to consider adding a direct link to the preserve's "donation" page on the main homepage.

It is too late for April Fools jokes - stop it. Everyone knows that Roadside will never be open to climbing. Good joke though.
