Stanley Kubric was an over-rated director if there ever was one!
I'm just checking but that was sarchastic, right :?:

Of course Truth is most accurately displayed by either a well placed sarchastic comment or a structured distopic vision. Not that I'm a fan of sarchasm, or distopia for that matter.

But yeah, Greenaway and Stoppard are killer directors in their own right.

Clockwork Orange is a better read than the movie was.

My answers were:

1) Stanley Borthers, but you were right about Bill Monroe.

2) droogs was correct

3) Devil's Tower was correct but who designated it the first national monument? Teddy Roosevelt

Sauron, Isladur, his bane(I think), Bilbo, Frodo, Sam, and I think Gollum.

Maybe we need to watch that film together. I'm a big fan of books over movies (I got a lit degree from a fancy lib arts college) but Clockwork Orange is a work of genius. Also, how can you not dig Strangelove, and The Shining? That's a picture perfect example of a mediocre book transformed into an amazing piece of filmmaking.

God I got to get back in school. Working for the man is killing my brain!

Nobody's gotten it completely right yet though all the ringbearers have been named.

OK...

There were 7

Sauron
Isildur
Gollum
Bilbo
Frodo
Tom Bombadil
Sam

If you want to go so far as to add everyone who touched the Ring you could add Deagol as well, but he ws murdered before he could put it on by Smeagol.

One more question for those that have read the book (!!!if you don't want Return of the King spoiled then don't read the rest of this thread!!!):

Who destroys the One Ring? And who is the true hero of LOTR? Two seperate answers.

The Matrix (3) comes out on November the 4th

43 more days to the opening night(That is if they open at 2200 hours the night before the day of the release, that is a correct asumption?)
