t: you err in writing more than the High Cute ness 17 syllables. and the smile. plus, the distillation of thought from emotion confuses those who would act.

pigsteak wrote:I am not even gonna begin to argue about this on here....pure and simple, I want more of my money in my pocket and less in the hands of the government. Entitlement spending has gotten out of hand, and needs fixed, and fast. This includes social security, state pensions, food stamps, free medical care, corporate tax breaks, unemployment benefits, disability claims, etc..... add in the pork on both sides of the aisle, these bogus wars that both Obama and Bush have paid for, and the red ink is dripping folks.
sadly, i am not smart enough to fix it or even offer a remedy. we have entered a period where everyone is becoming dependent on the government to bail them out or give them a free ride thru life. That just doesnt fit my personal vision. I love my national parks and infrastructure, but there has got to be some fiscal sanity coming from Washington.
it was hard to pick just one quote. 'my money'. 'entitlement' [NOT your opinion] or insurance companies reliance on government healthcare spending.
i agree, too many people depend on the government. but i also am old enough to remember my grandparents selling the family farms off because of 'opportunity' in the cities. crop insurance, food subsidies? as a good old boy from illinois i'd thought you'd have something to say about that?

Pig, do i understand correctly? it seems you think that government is responsible in solving these problems and that BO hasn't accomplished them?????
Also, i hope to explore the Accounting Standards Board and Ratings agencies role in asset backed mortgage securities....even though China caused the whole mess by having savings,. which is just funny enough to , --
EDIT: i'd take the point that it's not all right or wrong. the first post wisely framed the discussion between particular points and a generality. the military is THE FUCKING government, with automatic weapons, nuclear armed submarines and pervasive wire tapping abilities; hate the G-men, love the military because of your freedom?????

I don't want ANY religious person in office. A president that doesn't believe in heaven is probably less likely to send soldiers to war, IMO. Unfortunately, that's not a choice. Probably won't be a choice until 2024.
