Tick marks are(insert).

To sleep with a girl and not even remember her name is it's equivalent. Show some respect to the route. LEARN it. LEARN its tricks. LEARN its evil ways. IF you are sending so fast that you aren't learning from the route I'd dare say that you look at middle schools as a cool place to pick up chics.
If you give a man a match, he'll be warm for a minute. If you set him on fire, he'll be warm for the rest of his life!

I agree. But the pros do it, and eventually it's a trickle-down effect, until you have average-to-mediocre climbers doing it on brainless Indian Creek splitters and RRG jughauls.

A discrete dot of chalk or two while working a route is one thing... a bit gay in that middle-aged married man kind of way, but not overtly flaming. A real "pro" brushes them off when they're done anyway...leaving them behind is ardently homo. 4", greasy-blue, and on every hold of 11d jughauls is off the charts.

Tell him that the internet has decided he is a douche cock and needs to go brush every one of his blue tickmarks off.

Is he still there? I'm going to be up for 2 weeks starting Friday and won't hesitate to take every piece of his blue chalk if I see him.

I think he's around. Younger dude from Alaska... very nice guy aside from this delusional behavior. A polite approach would be best, if this thread doesn't suffice... I honestly think he's just young and clueless.

And on the third day, God created the Red River Gorge(by conjecture), and he saw that it was good.

We all agree chalk is an unsightly and not going to go away part of climbing. Why not make the trend and go to something like above? We can find our own manufacturer, sell it at Miguels and on Amazon, have Ray make the suggestion "strongly advise rock tone chalk" in his book, start with all the cool bad ass climbers using it, and then have the profits go to RRGCC...

My name is Sam Douglass and I love to pose for photo shoots holding on to a jug with only one hand (and no feet!) with my best friend Ian.

Hmm... How many people posting to this have actually climbed in an area where chalk is banned?
