I got my helmit stuck in a sqeeze chimney once. I was out on lead and could'nt move my head to get gear or do anything except curse like a sailor. Alot of other times the helmit stayed on for about half the route and it got too hot.

I used to wear a helmet all the time while sport climbing. I think I'll start doing it again.

get a white petzl metor III - it has plenty of ventilation and is very light weight

Um... seeing as how the last person that was killed at the red died from a HEAD INJURY (the computer just yelled back at me for typing in all caps~how cute?) I should think that by now it should be caveat emptor... it's like clipping old pitons at seneca- maybe they don't hold and that's fine, but if they did, then clipping them isn't such a bad idea... Wear your noggin' protectors girls and guys.
