what kind of snake?

Post by Rags »

Speaking of snakes....we came across one at Pebble Beach this weekend and I'm n ot sure what kind it was: dark green, slender head and body, beady black eyes.
It seemed pretty docile as the dog practically walked over it as it was laying in some brush just to the side of the trail. We also found several broken egg shells that were a bit smaller than a typical store bought shell would be... any ideas on what it was?

Caribou are sneaky like that. The only way to spot them is to look for Caribou crap a the base of the ice fall.

So I take it you've been around a lot of sneaky caribou.

Very interesting.

Nah, just some extensive research of both fact and folklore. Fascinating creatures really.

I had big spiders crawling all over me yesterday on Boiler Room. They were the last thing I was worried about up there. I think they even felt sorry for me.

Kick ass, Danny! That's awesome you got on that thing! What did you think? Could you hear the rumble? Did you get on Wide Pride while you were out there?

Yea, the rumble in my guts. That thing had me perplexed up at the start of the roof. Run out and perpexed with not enough gear and no where to place it if I had. I finally gave up on the idea of what I thought the obvious thing to do was and decided to do the not so obvious before my legs totally flamed out. It was very kick ass. I'd like to hear how you guys approached this enigma.

Hell yes! I''ve been salivating ever since I saw the picture of Wide Pride. Definitely every bit of what I had hoped for and MORE! I was almost a goner about half way up before I could get my knee in. My mind told me it was over as I was laying back to the right trying to find a way to get my hand stack back in there. The upper section was the shit with hand-fist stacks and the whole leg in there. What a sweet crack. I'll post a couple pics when I get home.

I remember seeing this stat in a post several months ago and then more recently in this thread. I have a hard time believing it. One acre is 43560 sq ft, so with 700 snakes that is about 62 sq ft per snake. 62 sq ft is about a 6'x10' area, so roughly the area of a large closet or small office. Now I know that snakes have their little holes in the ground, under rocks, etc, but if there were that many snakes in one acre, I would think I would see more of them! Where is this stat from?
