BTW, let's not put UK in the ivory tower all alone. They have plenty of company when it comes to removing the student from "student-athlete".
Agreed. And if you really want to blame someone why not blame every sports enthusiast in the world cheering on John Wall or Chris Sharma instead of the mathletes. Not joking but I don't see piggie or anyone (esp. me) buying DVDs of debate teams instead of paying Sharma's way in life shelling out bucks for Dosage videos. We're all hypocrites.
Oh and UK spends very little if any tax payer money on the program. It's almost all funded by donations. Most college ball programs are these days. When the fundraisers try to get the boosters to send money to the computer labs they say "no way, take care of those ball players." Not the administration's fault per se.
Jesus only knows that she tries too hard. She's only trying to keep the sky from falling.
UK athletics is all donation/self-funded. academic uk and uk athletics are completely different things; don't let the logo fool you. the only monetary crossover between the two?: uk athletics donates a million (should be more maybe) a year to the general scholarship fund at UK.
as an aside, this might be the least important social "location" to bemoan a lack of ethics. i mean, if we're going to bemoan let's make it count.
That was a dumb press conference, he needs to just stay quiet, coach and let the issue die(bad word choise on my part....come on crank, don't let me down and go for the dead baby joke).
yeah, well, he hasn't got that six million yet, so you never know. I just don't understand people....do all coaches start out crazy, or does coaching make them that way.
