Pigsteak,
The secret is a rotating work schedule-you get every other weekend off and every other Wed and Thurs. off.

thanks snowpuppy..I already get every weekend off (save about 6 saturdays a year). I was really curious about those who seem to climb more than they work. is it about living on less, is it about being underemployed, is it about being a trust fund baby....is it about quit whining and just get out? I find as I age I make more excuses for "why" I don't climb as often....

Man I work 16 hours + every day that I work, and it's not because I want to, it's mandatory. You know, life does catch up with us all at some point in time.

I gave up a sales job that I was making around 40k to become a guide. I am now outside climbing and or working well over 250 days a year in all parts of the country. I am living out of my Subaru at the moment and haven't stayed in the place I rent in NC for 3 months. I won't be back there until June. Some times all I want os to sleep in my bed...

Then I see conversations like this and remember why I made those life decisions.

Wouldn't change a thing!!!

Only because things were already in motion when I discoverd climbing. Would I change things? Probably not, but I do wish I had run away sooner in my life!

You guys got it, I'm in the process of trying to run away. 8) Would I have changed things-you bet I would have, would I keep all my pals and adventures I've had along the way-you bet I would.

I consider myself a realistic-pessimist-life sucks!!! But it's the friends that you make and adventures you have along the way that makes it fun and interesting. Now that I wouldn't trade for anything.
