If you could have posted this about 5 years ago I would have a better answer. Back then I forgot what life was like in Columbus on a weekends. When I was stuck home on a weekend I thought it was strange to watch people mow the lawn, wash their cars, etc. I would think "huh so this is what normal people do on the weekends, thank god I am not normal." Yes I would get bored stiff esp if all my friends were climbing. I had it real bad then...but injury changed that all for me.
Now-a-days the weekends are not long enough for me to do all things I want to do. Plus it helps that most of my friends are not climbing much either.
What did you do when you lived in Bloomington, ill and didn't climb all summer?

you could cook. that's what i did when i busted my ankle and couldn't climb for a few months. i cooked and had people over for dinner. that will kill several hours - deciding what to make, getting the ingredients, prep work, cooking, etc. it was loads of fun. surely you know someone around town that doesn't climb that would like a nice dinner

Rather then putzing around when not climbing, try to do something that might help you climb better, or something that might add to / complement your climbing experience. Some ideas:
Any kind of cardio activity - bike, run, swim, soccer, b-ball, mtb.
Yoga, ballet, gymnastics, slackline
Crossfit, G4 ninja warrior games stuff.
Photography skillz which will give you something to do between ptiches or a reason to get out to the crag when you are not psyched on climbing or have to take a rest day.
Spend it on recovering - massage, meditation, fasting, etc.
Or, just general rest day stuff like hanging out for hours in a bookstore, reading, watching climbing dvd's, planning your next trip, researching lottery numbers

piggy I thought you ran. You should be spending all your free time training for a race.
