Well shucks figgs, just trying to stir shit up. I would try and drag this out for a few pages but Its all gravy.

I'm still mad about that day the week of the closure that I wasted cleaning up other people's messes at the request of the landowner (to satisfy some abstract violations to a set of "rules" that were never actually published or made public in any way)... a day of my life I'll never get back.

Bottom line, if there are things you don't want to see on your private "nature preserve," BE CLEAR ABOUT IT. Climbers are by and large a boring and obedient bunch and are good at following rules if told in a clear and consistent manner. Unfortunately, not everyone has the same cultural values and understands what may or may not offend someone else, especially in moral grey areas like hammocks and perma-draws. None of the horrendous crimes cited by the OP were listed on the GFNP's set of regulations. If there are things you don't want happening on your land, be up front about it in advance, or at least give us a warning to correct the problem so as a culture we can do our best to keep the 3% of trouble-making idiots out there in line with the other 97% of us have been working on the trails, developing and maintaining routes, and picking up trash for decades. Roadside was a well-maintained gem of a crag for many decades before its purchase in 2004 and sudden closure in 2011, with massive and impressive trail construction efforts as recent as 2009.

Was there yesterday. Only noise was traffic. Was a beautiful day. Way better than Oil Crack, Arena, and Pocket Wall. It's right by the road and everyone thinks you're at the Zoo. Have had permas on Wild Gift for ages and no one has said a word. Apparently I should make a disclaimer that this was satire since I just admitted to trespassing on a public forum.

I think this is the first post of yours that I read that I agree with you 100%. Even though I wasn't there that day, if given the opportunity to fix an issue to preserve access, I know that I, along with a majority of the community, would've stepped up to help.
