I've been taking the Metro to and from work mostly to give myself an extra hour a day to read this book. It's fantastic.

After reading the reviews about the golden compass, I went out and bought all three books tonight. About half way through the first, and it is pretty good so far. Anyone else read them? THe reviews said the movie waters down some of the anti-church/religion of the books, but it looks like a cool movie.

elmore leonard, maxmum bob, total brain candy.
thought "the road" was cormac's worst ever, a total emotional wasteland and I didn't get the, kid as christ, concept. then again maybe it was supposed to be a wasteland and I'm just a silly pulp fiction junkie.
