I had a chemistry book that would have killed a mofuka.
I was rollin fat on my mongoose on Old Taylor Mill road a while back and some punks in their momma's landrover whipped by me close and yelled "Fuck you!!1"...
When I got a couple miles down the road they were sitting in my neighbors driveway. I took on 4 of them and they all bitched up and denied it. I showed them which house was mine so they'd know where to go when they grew a pair.
Confront!

I started playing my ipod while i ride to drown out the verbage. Its kind of a trade off safety wise i guess but it has cut down on negative incidents. sometimes our reactions are taken out on other cyclists as a continuance of negative behavior - i flip off a car that gives me a hard way to go then they are even meaner to someone else. Its hard to ignore sometimes but that's why i got the ipod.

I think more and more people are getting back into bicycles these days. I know there are a lot of two wheelers in Lex this spring. The more people spend some time on a bike the more likely they are to lose the attitude and live in peace.. awwww. I haven't had a hostile encounter with a motorist for more than a month and I ride in the epicenter of the whole mess. (knock on wood) Any of you folks that like to ride your bikes real crazy like and then drink beers should check out the Oaks Day Alleycat tonight. They are always a blast whether your gunnin' or funnin'- more info is availible at

So, out of curriosity, where does this animosity from the drivers come from? How many of you will bike through a stop light, or ride in a horizontal line instead of single file. Or even worse, who here has passed all cars at a stop light (on the right) only to force all the cars to have have to pass you up again once the light turns green? Especially on a buy two lane road.

# Obey the instructions of official traffic-control signals and signs. Stop at stop signs and for stop lights just like a motor vehicle.
# Ride a bicycle on the right side of the road with traffic.

krampus, they are just jealous that they cannot run the stoplight/sign, ride to the front at lights and be a way cooler person. so they throw shit. like mad apes.

My logic or argument for passing cars while they are stopped at a light is that they probably just passed me a few moments before I arrive at the light. I believe that riding a bicycle "with traffic" means riding in the same direction. How is a cyclist going to keep up with traffic moving 50 mph?

thats what i say. i'll pass at the stoplight especially if i'm making a right turn. also by getting to the front it keeps me(hopefully) from getting creamed in the intersection. like rasta said, they are just going to pass me again.
