ScrmnPeeler - Something from today's Washington Post that you might want to think about before you throw this one to Obama.

"It's way too soon to call Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda spiritual outcasts among Arab Muslims, but they have in fact sustained enormous damage throughout the region because of Iraq. The lack of holy-warrior manpower coming from the Muslim Brotherhood is surely, in part, a reflection of this discomfort with al-Qaeda's violence, the complexity of Iraqi politics and America's not entirely negative role inside the country. If bin Ladenism is now on the decline -- and it may well be among Arabs -- then Iraq has played an essential part in battering the movement's spiritual appeal.

Iraq could still fall apart (and if an American president starts withdrawing troops haphazardly, it probably will). The country's descent into chaos and renewed sectarian strife would likely reenergize Islamic extremism. But it is certainly not too soon to suggest that Iraq could well become America's decisive victory over Osama bin Laden, al-Qaeda and all those Muslims who believe that God has sanctified violence against the United States."

Very interesting article.

Back to original topic. All politicians "scare me" and are more full of sh!t than a porta potty in New Orleans during Mardi Gras. However, I think Obama is the scariest at the moment.

I'd vote for anyone but him.

I will also say that I think McCain is a bit old to be running. I hope if he does win the Republican nomination he chooses a young buck for his VP. He definitely needs a backup plan.

I don't think a Republican could win the Whitehouse this time around not only because most Americans have realized what a monstrous fuck-up their every move has been over the last eight years but also because the Republican party is so severely split. They are far more divided than the Dems were the last two times.

Heh heh, just had to throw in that middle name, didn't ya? Do you believe he went to a terrorist training school as a youth?

I actually still thing things are vague but it will not be a Republican. There's still a good chance that one or more good 3rd party candidates will get into this race and that could skew things one way or the other.

However, just for you Mr. Day, I will say that at this point it looks like Obama will be our next President.

Edits are no longer allowed in the in the "suck" forum. Caught me by surprise as well, but I think it's probably a good thing. And yes I threw in the middle name just for you, was wondering how you'd react. At first I used his full name, but thought that it sounded so funny it might not elicit a reaction at all.
