I don't think that will work, since when people first start a list, they would still be higher then they should. even if they started it 6 months ago. Something more like limiting the total number of routes in the last month as a % of the total routes should maybe work better? So that if I have 30 routes in the last month, but only 30 routes total, I won't show up. But if I have 30 routes in the last month, but 100 routes total I would.

Regardless, I think you all did a great job with the new versions.

yeah.. i was thinking about possibly requiring six months or something.. might get to that tonight as well.

What about using the average of each person's last 5 or 10 routes ticked? That would work for people putting in all of their sends or people climbing on weekends. Actually, maybe 3-5 would be better plus you would want to limit it to the last X number of days so the same person wouldn't be up who put in all of their hardest sends at once.

Is it possible to limit it to people who have been in the guide for more than a month? That should sort it out.

Last 3-5 routes would change constantly... I generally do 5-10 new routes a weekend....

Wes's idea would work as well.

umm.. no. not doing it. building the array is a serious load as it is already. notice that slightly longer load time for the current guide home page. and that's for 50 users (about .05 seconds per user array.. that sounds fast but adds up quick.. 50 user arrays times .05 seconds.. 2.5 second for just that aspect of the page load). not great for the server or user experience. and will not do anything based off days for that sort of thing. months is the smallest time increment we'll do for now. unless you want to limit it to the top three and just track them.. but that wasn't the point of putting it up there - my point in creating that graph was just to show people how might otherwise get lost in the mass of the rankings list. i'm still disappointed it can't go through all the users.. but it was taking 30+ seconds per load.. with all you voyeurs checking it out, i was afraid of what it would do to ray's server.. and other people's patience.

oh holy shit how cool, you guys! It's fun as hell to analyze even my lame-o spray list!!

NICE WORK, Paul and Yasi. Now I just have to get you guys to make me a better climber so I can actually have something to spray about. Can you start working on the code for that please?

hmm.. that's a good idea.. i like it more than limiting verse the number of months you've had a spray list.. and actually you give me an idea. might try it out in the next couple days.
Regardless, I think you all did a great job with the new versions.
thanks.. much appreciated hearing it from you guys. ;)

Well Paul, thanks. You just gave me a reason to upgrade my server. :)

Pru: Okay, so all the links on the site should be pointing to the RRCGuide (not V2) now. Let me know if you notice any others.

Also, I smile a little when I think of you navigating to that page and then quickly copying the text before your 5 seconds is up and you get redirected. You are just so cute. :)
