you have so much to learn pigstastgud. those routes could be considered right on or possibly a little stiff as is, you cant downgrade the routes now. you as the developer have to set the sandbag into place well before the mere mortals get to touch the rock. possibly even before you ever touch the rock and possibly before the rock is even conceived(of course by 2 consenting adult rocks that are not related). you cant go back and give a route a sandbag grade after the fact, just plain goofy. i guess in your case you could blame it on old age and you forgot just how easy the route actually was or you could blame it on the geriatric joints on the day of the fa making it feel harder for you. but in both cases the sandbag would never really stick and people would know that you are downgrading the route for pure egotistical reasons and not plain humility or humor.

Slashes just leave me with that oh so uneasy feeling. I feel like the route is on sale or something. Used to be 12d, but today you can have it for 12c. It gets my mental biorythms all out of synch and makes me feel like the route is some sort of dent-and-scratch model.

ilikpigsfet2 , there are a few things that will allow you to pull the sharma rating gig, being stronger than most bi peds on this planet, having enough sponsorship to travel and climb most the time and a hippie/zen like demeanor. but most importantly and probably the main reason sharma does not rate his problems, he is too stoned to remember the rating or each individual problem. unfortunately due to older age, being a republican/money man and being a undercover dea agent you will have to stick to the information we have given you. once you master that you may be able to move onto other techniques, lets think baby steps and focus on the task at hand.

what happened to just eyeballing a route, getting on, and carrying a bail biner just in case. burn the books and pull the tags of the base of the route. let's see what get's climbed then.

i am personally tired of people not wanting to go somewhere because, "there's nothing hard (rating) there." last time i checked most of the "Hard, (read as gay as fuck) faggots get served on Oh-henry!! last time i checked it's "only" 11a so why are they getting spanked??

W3rd. Here's the rating system I've been using for a while.....

Hard 10, Easy 10, hard 11, easy 11, etc. Why should we specify more than that?

my fave is asking if a route is cool/fun or worth getting on. instead of "yeah it's great" i get "it's 11 or 12 or what the fuck ever. that wasn't even the question i asked. will i enjoy myself is what i want to know.

i think that's why 11d doesn't get much love. nobody likes getting spanked on the solid 11d when there are plenty of fluffy 12s to impress your "friends" with.
