An "official" clarification regarding the closure for rappelling posted by Shannon is now on the RRGCC Forum. I also went back and read the announcement of the closures on the website more carefully. Basically, this is something that is still in process. The Forest Service knows what areas they want to close but does not know exactly how this relates to particular climbs or rappell locations. Therefore, after the fences go up (Yes, fences. These areas will be closed to all activity) it will be up to climbers to verify which routes are affected.
