Tim Steele is out west (Cali still, I think)... he was teaching, but quit that and developed the website for the olympics a few years back.

I know he's still climbing, because I see his posts on mountainproject.com from time to time...

Back at that time, he was in his prime
When Climbing was not well known.
With a handful of gear and donning no fear
His mission — to perforate stone.

Into the Gorge, like ol’ Saint George
He went forth for dragons to kill.
And in there he found beasts all around
Waiting for a taste of his drill.

From bedframes, his hangers; his bolts were old bangers
