The point is lead by example. Do as I say, not as I do doesn't cut it.

Nobody really live up to that. I was a big Bob Marley music fan - peace, freedom all that. Then I read more about Bob Marley, the man. Not such a pretty picture, esp. when it came to dealing with the women in his life. But, does that take away from his message? Even the Dali Lama admits that he is attached to material things (watches), but does that take away from his message?
Gore is a rich, white person, and has been for a while. How long has he had that house? Habits are tough for people to change. He is doing some good, some bad. Kinda like we all do. Personally, I was not a big Gore fan when he ran, but I have a better opinion of him now.
And Larry, didn't you used to be a VW bug driving hippie? Did you have a "Stop the Dam" sticker on that? Out of the current crop of people in Washington, who do you think would be more likely to stop the dam today?

Wes- I hope you haven't stopped listening to Marley. Just this morning, I listen to the entire Legend cd, what a great way to start my day.

I love that the whole global warming discussion is purely legitimized and propagated by one Al Gore. Now, since he's not as good a green citizen as we want, the entire topic of discussion is invalid.
The logic is inescapable. Because of that one article Larry posted I'm totally over the Global Warming thing. It is, after all, totally verified and legitimized by Gore, purely for his capitalistic motivations, so he and Tipper can laugh their asses off on the way to the bank.
I can't believe I jumped in on this. Pedestrian is what it is.

come on libbies...do a better job of spinning this. your sauce is super weak right now. no one has even suggested that Gore's example therefore means that global warming is a farce.
fact is, global warming is a very big issue that Gore should take huge credit for bringing to the forefront of our minds. for this, I thank him.
fact is, Gore lives in a super size house that can not be justified by any means. America has told us that we need bigger and better. He is not alone, but being a citizen of green earth, I just expected better.
perhaps the saddest fact of this entire thread is that rhunt has admitted to watching american idol.....this is a sad day indeed.

Who cares? It was a movie, I haven't seen it, I probably won't but I am glad that a documentary on Global Warming exists, the fact that it was Gore who put it on, who cares? As far as I am concerned he was playing the part of the movie. I saw "Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure" I don't really think Keano Reeves is and idiot.....oh wait....you see my point. I could care less about any actor or politician, I expect them ALL to lie and show a different person than they are, did anyone here really not expect a hypocritical politician. However, the distribution of knowledge is important and I am glad that it was made. I know the repubs would make a movie like that. Thats why I like the dems better

over here tony blair is catching all sorts of crap for how much he and the rest of the gov't fly and drive big SUVs. i think more people notice the stories in British papers as they are usually juxtaposed with large images of scantilly clad women.

Scantily clad women is good. The British are fully capable of whooping us on our own stories. I think everybody heard the British headlines for the lady astronaut crack-up: Lust in Space and The Dark Side of the Loon. How could we let them scoop us on such great headlines? It's a wonder we won the Revolutionary War.
