If you are any good at trad there's no fidling around placing gear. goes in fast, first and gets clipped. Just like a bolt.

I guess I'm no good at trad then. Regardless, you still have to carry that shit on you while you're climbing. Crack climbing kicks ass but traddies overemphasize the coolness of the gear. That's like being a race car driver and spending all day talking about the latest seat belts and fire extinguishers.

when you hang a 4.5 and two number 5's off your harness its like having a full rack on. Doesnt it bang you in the skull when you get upside down in the crack?
I kinda like that tune at the end of the movie too.

I'm serious though. Gearing up for a trad line anymore feels like I'm putting a costume on to climb. How can climbing a line with shit dangling all over you feel as pure as heading up a line with just a rope and chalk bag (draws pre-hung)? Doesn't mean one is better than the other. I'm just saying I think the whole "trad is pure" is bullshit. It sure don't feel pure. Climbing without having to think about protection is pure climbing.....focused on movement not rubiks cube solving.

Forget the spray, forget the rating. Its all about the pucker factor for me. So when I am geared up on 5.8 or 5.9 crack performing a sketchy move on a questionable piece of placement, my ass puckers up just the same as if I were on the crux of a 5.11 sport.
