Day, i kicked it with Tom Evans in Yosemite for the last month and he said that he has never heard of you... and he also said that he would never ride bitch on the back of a motorcycle... maybe you climbed with a different Tom Evans...

I found mention of the Tom Evans you know on the web, and he's definately not my old climbing partner. The Tom Evans I knew is from Missouri. I haven't seen him in more than twenty years, but I believe he's still in California. Last time I climbed with him was in the Valley in the early eighties. He was an I.T. guy at the time.

cool man... it was really funny talking to this guy because he was around yosemite at the same time. weird to find two climbers with the same name in the same area.

Yeah, That is funny. When you said Tom Evans was your hero and spiritual leader I was blown away. I was wondering what kind of transformation Tom had been through since I'd last seen him. My buddy Tom is a truly great guy, just not the kind of person I would think of as a spiritual leader. It never occurred to me that there might be two Tom Evans, at least both climbing in the Valley around the same time. When I learn how to use my slide scanner I'll send you some photos of the great road trip of '79.
