To everyone: I don't like people like the current editors of Climbing. If you feel they are your brethren then I probably wouldn't like you either.

Thanks Spuzo.

512OW: In answer to the "don't buy it" comment: If the magazine doesn't improve I will not renew my subscription. At present I'm not reading it because the content is such utter crap. A year ago I would read Climbing cover to cover as soon as I got it. Now I don't see the point.

Paul & Defender: This is a bulletin board like so many web bulletin boards and even you occasionally make unpleasant comments. Nature of the beast. My persona on here is a noisy smartass know-it-all, admittedly a magnification of my true personality but magnified to distortion. Defender, if you like the new tone of Climbing that's all you. Enjoy it.

Defender: If I win the Angry Letter thingy I will decline it in writing.

And...some of the ads have pictures of pretty girls on them - real real pretty girls. That's art - a pretty climber girl in a color ad is about as much art as you can get in a magazine about cams and ropes.

Dear Climbing,

You really need to keep your style in the letters section and jazz it up with pretty pictures of pretty girls with cams and ropes. It is the
first thing to read in your magazine and sets the tone for the reader. Your attitude is directed at everyone that looks at the ads. Personally, I'd really like to see more pretty pictures of girls with cams and ropes. I have this sneaking suspicion that you are the kind of person (people?) that would enjoy pretty girls in pictures with cams and ropes. This type of really cool journalism also seems fine when you are posting on a web forum like redriverclimbing.com with Paul - the corporate whore, looking at the pictures of pretty girls with cams and ropes-this is print. It stays around with Paul. Could you please try to write like you actually think about it? What you write in Climbing reflects on everyone that climbs with pretty girls with cams and ropes., believe it or not. Take a clue from the pretty girls with cams and ropes in the pictures and the entire history of monthly publications of pretty girls with cams and ropes and address your correspondents with respect and dignity, especially if the are pretty girls with cams and ropes. You come off like the kind of spoiled little shits that can make climber hang-outs and crowded crags full of pretty girls with cams and ropes bearable. Or, more like it, you come off like the spoiled pretty girls with cams and ropes because their daddy gave a small fortune to climbing magazine

The quality of pretty girls with cams and ropes has skyrocketed in the last few issues. What you are offering makes your rag worth reading. Your photo spreads of pretty girls with cams and ropes mimic the
ads (forgivable), your product reviews need no criticism nor bo the pretty girls with cams and ropes. The photography issue was not
disgraceful in this aspect because of the very very pretty girls with cams and ropes. Ads were faced by content and the border
matched across the pages. This shouldn't be a crime. Why don't you just switch to all ads, all the time? The content would probably be improved as a result of the pictures of pretty girls with cams and ropes. For instance, the letters section would be edited by a
professional. You seem to be modeling your magazine after fashion magazines visually and flaming web bulletin boards for content. Does that strike you as pathetic? It shouldn't.

My subscription to Climbing is a gift that keeps on giving. I will not renew unless you have more ads with pretty girls with cams and ropes in there.

Sincerely,
Defender

Wow, reading that, I thought KD had been the target of a Freaky Friday word substitution. Little did I know, he actually wrote that phrase 100 times on his own. Well done.

I've gotta agree with KD. Cut out the written stuff and just have pictures of hot climber chicks with ropes, cams, or nothing at all. It would be an improvement.
