Christian, I think it was quite honorable of you to go and apologize for the manner in which you expressed your opinion. I also commend you for taking initiative.

I am not at all surprised that a bunch of no-thinking neanderthals who would throw firecrackers into a fire when people's faces are near responded in the manner that they did.

Visitors can forget where they are and act rowdy but I think those jerks are probably jerks to the core. It is the small few who ruin it for the majority. Why abuse a place like Miguel's--do they want to get it shut down?

Now THAT is a hanging mob I don't want to be on the wrong side of.

Ah, one more reason NEVER to stay at that place. I have never camped there since I have started climbing and never will. Decent food, great gear shop, but would rather have my teeth pulled out than camp there.

Tough luck. Where was everyone ELSE around the campfire that could have helped you mitigate the assholishness? Firecrackers in the face is so far from not cool, it's got another zip code. I camp in the far reaches of the parking lot, in my car, when I'm there. It can get annoying at miguells, but it can also be very cool. I hope you don't stay away. You did the right thing.

By the way, I owe you ten bucks. Or a sixer from the trailer, I can't remember. I met you with Kelsey and Wes and we had a bet about who directed a movie Wim Wenders or somebody else. Anyway, I don't remember the bet, but I do remember looking it up when I got home. You were right.

Just make a donation to th RRGCC for the PMRP and do it PDQ b/c it's a BFD...
I don't take bets that are for real...especially if my opponent is in anyway impaired.
