Talk about fear based...I've heard my boss and plant manager tell people that they're lucky they still have a job. It's no wonder that he's running the place into the ground. His only way to make the financial numbers look better is to cut people.

But when he says "We" he means "You, and if you do it according to your good judgement, training, and experience, I will obstruct you in various bizzare ways. But if you do it my way, I will obstruct you in various bizarre ways. Then in a month we will do it all over again on another project that we will needlessly repeat without finishing again next year".

I have to say that my new boss is really cool. He's a very conservative Christian, but he is also pretty laid back. We had an 'assimilation' meeting recently where all of his employees got to ask annoymous questions, no holds barred (he's new in this job) and I asked "is it true that you paid your way through college by stripping?" He laughed, blushed and said no. Heh.
Also, he's in another state so he doesn't micro-manage at all.
