It's like I said to the guy at the tire shop tonight.
There are just too many people worrying too much about what the other guy is doing and not enough about themselves.
It starts at home. Get right with yourself and ...ahh *&$^ it.

okay... sounds fair. at the diner this morning i heard some folks agreeing with themselves about it.
older gent customer: "you have a merry christmas"
sweet older server lady: "thanks... and thanks for saying 'christmas'"
ogc: "yeah, nobodies gonna tell me i can't say merry christmas, it's all about Christ anyway... stupid pagan democrats"
sosl: "you ain't kidding. this country gets more ungodly all the time"
me under my breath and over my coffee: "damn straight... including right now"
so, what bothers me is that if Christianity is being "hijacked", why is it happening so damn easily.
the biggest trick the devil ever played........
It's what I'm saying: "Who EVER told that man he couldn't say 'Christmas'?" Noone told him that. Just like noone has ever prevented personal prayer in a classroom or personal display of the Ten Commandments on one's personal property. When someone does say, "Happy Holidays" to a stranger it's because they care that the stranger may be a muslim, jew, pagan, satanist, agnostic, atheist, or Democrat and "Happy Holidays" just covers everything and is only offensive to people that just hate everything.
So I'd just like to say to everyone on the list:
Merry Christmas
Happy Hanukkah
Excellent Kwanza
Super Solstice
Hail Satan
Merry Whatever
Nothing is Happy
Kerry for President
and/or
Happy Holidays

holiday
O.E. haligdæg, from halig "holy" + dæg "day;" in 14c. meaning both "religious festival" and "day of recreation," but pronunciation and sense diverged 16c.

I was busy last night. But historically, Christ was probably born in June, not December. Many theologans believe that the celebration of Christ's birth was moved to December to correspond with the pagan celebration of the winter solstice. The Christians were having a difficult time convincing the pagans to abandon their holiday traditions so co-opting the celebration into Christianity was believed to be the best way to bring pagans completely into the fold.
I still believe that Jesus was a great guy

Oh and I do LOVE to assault Piggie! It's almost as satisfying as getting that pesky mold out of the tile grout in the shower.

as if that makes a difference in how anyone should personally celebrate it.
happy short days to all, and to all a good night!
