Rope ladder at Global

I agree, this was not left behind junk. It was very nicely done with the exception of dynamic rope. But that was managable once you got the hang of it. I was there with small kids this weekend and I looked for the alternate path but did not find it. It was a struggle getting everyone up. Although I must say the kids enjoyed the way down. They slid on their butts like a slide at the playground.

Go to the right alittle bit before where the old rope ladder was. You should be able to find a fairly obvious path to follow.

as you approach the wall heading towards the base of Like Father- while still on the lower level of trail (you haven't started the scramble up the stone yet) the trail will head off right, you will pass a short wall on the left that has a 10 ft finger crack on it, pass this on the right and you will notice an approach gully on the left that will deposit you to the right of the flat stone base of Vision. In warm climes beware of the resident copperheads that live between Ky Pinstripe and Like Father

Thanks for the trail beta. I think I can find it. I was looking for it after the scramble up to the base of where the ladder used to be. And yes, the base of KyP is a regular viper pit in the summer. Saw 3 of them there in Aug.

I say ya just kill all the snakes on that ledge, tie 'em together, and use that for a rope. It might be a little stretchy until the rigamortis sets in, but at least the base would be vermin free.

I thught the rope ladder was a great idea. A little tough to use with it being dynamic and all, but I understand most climbers don't have extra static ropes laying around. And I agree with old man Eureka is where I take my wife and kidds to climb, and the rope ladder really helps. I can't take the chance of taking them up and around by Kent. Pinstripe it would be to embarrasing for my kidds to hear me scream like a bitch when we run accross those damn copper heads that are always there.
