The Red?
Well, I would love to see a design with say: a crack, and two pockets on each side that would actually look like a cave. That would represent the red a little more.
Well, I would not worry about the redesign too much. It's more important to throw some red on there, and quickly get it in the hands of people.
Get it out the door - make way many more people happy than a redesign!

I second that. Believe me, I have seen a lot of climbing shirts in my day and Diggum has done a great job on this shirt. We have 200 of them coming & it is looking like a great weekend is shaping up weatherwise for Rocktoberfest! We are still in need of volunteers for the event who will all get a free tee and Rocktoberfest meal for their efforts. As a reminder there is a climbing competition planned at Torrent on Saturday with a cash purse for Open contestants. More details will be posted on the comp tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend and having the best Rocktoberfest ever.Spragwa wrote:It's one of the most creative designs I've seen for a climbing shirt. I know you worked hard diggum. Thanks for the design.

There is now a liability waiver for the Rocktoberfest climbing competition posted on the rrgcc.org site under events. Please note that if you are a minor under 18 and planning on competing the waiver needs to be signed by a parent or guardian. There is a cash purse for Open competitors with $300 for 1st place. Some great prizes for Advanced & Novice/Intermediate competitors. This is a total points comp and will include both sport and trad routes at Torrent.

The idea of a "Masters" category was considered in the planning stages but we decided to keep it as simple as possible as this is the first full comp that the RRGCC has ever sponsored. We plan on making the comp an annual Rocktoberfest tradition and will certainly consider expanding the number of categoriers next year.Christian wrote:Is there a category for overweight and overaged clinbers like at some mountain bike races? i.e. Clydesdale?
Rumor has it that a number of top area climbers intend to compete in the Open category. In addition to the cash purse, Red Bull is donating some framed prints of their sponsored athletes for the Open prize. We also have plenty of nice donations from our sponsors for the Advanced & Novice/Intermediate prizes and for raffling. Such items include the Ruckus DVD, Wolverine RRG guidebooks, the Warrior's Way book, gear from M-gear, gift certificates from the Benchmark, gear & clothing from Miguel's, etc.
RRO is taking comp registrations now and will take them up to 9:30 am the day of the comp. We will also have a table set up at Miguel's on Friday & Saturday and will take registrations there through 9:30 am day of also. As parking is limited at Torrent Falls / Mark's, people attending the comp and/or Rocktoberfest party are encouraged to carpool from wherever they are camping.

There have been several people who have asked about spectators for the comp. Spectators are welcome and there will be no charge for spectators. Also for anyone in the Cincinnati area you may register at RockQuest for the comp up through the close of business on Friday 10/7.
