Jeez you all are a bunch of little bitches, thats all the dude wants to do is take some photos! If you cant make it, dont bitch that you cant climb hard enough for him to take Pics of you! He's just trying to do his job, its hard enough to be a climbing photographer!

On the one hand, I more-or-less like UC*, it's always cool when the Red gets featured in some mag or other, and the Solar Collector/GC/DS area is pretty photogenic (plus, if the shoot happens in the next month or so, the climbers will be all sweaty-glisteny ) On the other hand, since the SC area has been featured in other mags, it would be cool if UC could get 'the scoop' on the latest, hipest new areas. Some of the shots towards the bottom of this page are the kind of thing I'm thinking of:

The shots of Paradise Lost and Lucifer are amazing looking, and the area is new enough to make UC appear to be 'in the know', rather than featuring some 5 year old area (shocking! ancient!) It would be cool if things worked out to feature Muir Valley - it's a great backstory and the area is increasingly capable of handling crowds that might be attracted by an article.

*Their profile of Chicago kinda sucked and really suffered from having been written by someone who is a member of only one of the climbing 'cliques' here and didn't research the other 'scenes'. (Plus, I'm glad that someone else gave the explanation of the cranial-rectal impaction linguistic choices used here.)

for some examples great shots of allah on paradise lost and dracula, check out wes' http://www.knowchaos.com. and there's plenty of other photogenic stuff out there. and as for muir, lip service would be pretty photogenic (and very atypical red: the crux is big fat slopers..) and just about everything at solarium but the closer to banishee and such, the better. i can't speak for the sanctuary. great wall has some pretty rock but it's a little more moderate.

those photos wes took at the motherlode of allah & j are just incredible. probably my favorites ever. the rock looks gorgeous as do the guys.

those were at purgatory.. but yeah, just great pics. i love the one of allah at the jug.

Good photos, but I wish he were wearing a bright sports top, as he sorta blends into the rock a little bit there. Or even a bright shirt or pair of pants. It is crazy how much effect the clothes can have on a shot...

i kinda like them topless.

One of my favorite parts of those photos is the vibrant rope contrasted against the dark rock. I hate to say it, but my most recent rope purchase was significatly based on color - and influenced by seeing those photos.

tomdarch, You should have seen my rope when it was new - laser-like bright yellow. It made me sad when it started turning green because of the sand and dirt.
